We are committed to transforming the lives of people with convictions through our work in prisons.

Our services have been designed to tackle the underlying causes of offending behaviour so people can make positive changes to their lives.

With more than 500 people working to support people with convictions in custody and in the community, we bring passion, experience and innovation to public sector rehabilitation services.

We also work with specialist partner organisations to help people move away from their past and look forward to a brighter future.

All of our services are designed in partnership with the people who we’re trying to help. Our work includes:

• Through-the-gate support
• Information and advice and guidance
• Self-employment support for people with convictions
• Working with employers to ensure opportunity for all

We are one of the largest independent providers of training and education in prisons.

Currently delivering education in 22 prisons and one YOI, we teach more than 600 accredited courses to thousands of prisoners. That’s more than two million hours of face-to-face learning each year.

Our high-quality courses range from basic English and maths to employer-recognised qualifications in construction and the arts – and almost everything in between.

Courses are delivered through blended learning and are flexible to cater for all types of people.

All our programmes are delivered by expert tutors and help to prepare prisoners to leave custody. We can also offer support to get free and independent advice on debt issues and help them find suitable work on release.

Our new Justice Insights report “Achieving Positive Resettlement from Education to Employment” which considers the elements leading to positive resettlement from custody into the community was published in August 2023. You can download a copy here

And away from our direct work with people serving their sentences, we’re working hard to change attitudes towards people who can often be tarnished unfairly following criminal convictions. Our Social Recruitment Framework brings together organisations to tackle any pre-conceived ideas about hiring people who have previously been involved in crime, along with our Social Recruitment Advocacy Group and approach to social value, we want to create a fairer society for everyone..

We also work with employers on the Ban the Box initiative to support fair and equal recruitment processes and have engaged industry to influence our employer-led curriculum delivered to our learners.
